Train to Teach with the TQUK Level 3 Award in Education & Training (RQF) qualification, formerly known as the PTTLS course for adult teaching.

This qualification will enable you to work in adult education/training with persons from the age of 14 upwards and is designed for unqualified tutoring, coaching, mentoring in colleges, outside schools, company trainers etc.

Who is it for?

Our TQUK Level 3 Award in Education & Training (RQF) qualification course is designed for people who either are, or wish to become, a Tutor working in adult education.

The Qualification

The Level 3 Award in Education and Training (RQF) is an Ofqual regulated qualification and accredited by Training Qualifications UK, who are one of the top UK awarding bodies. This qualification will enable you to train and teach in the adult sector upon completion.

Course Information

You will study via our Online Learner Management System which has been designed to ensure you are guided through your study step by step, giving you clear and precise instruction along the way. In addition to this you will also work with your personal 1-2-1 TutorAssessor for full guidance and support where required. Our learner management system will help you to keep track of all of your assignments and clearly outlines through a progress bar how much you have remaining to complete your Level 3 Award in Education and Training (RQF).

Throughout your Level 3 Award in Education and Training (RQF) course, you will be assessed through a variety of methods to help you complete the course as quickly and easily as possible. There are 3 units in total which you will need to complete to achieve the qualification.

Units Covered

  • Unit 1: Understanding roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training.

You will need to complete a written assignment reflecting your knowledge around legal responsibilities, equality and diversity, individual needs of learners, maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment and your role as a teacher and your superiors.

  • Unit 2: Understanding and using inclusive teaching and learning approaches in education and training.

You will need to complete a written assignment reflecting your knowledge and understanding of inclusive teaching and learning, understanding strengths and limitations of your own role, how to motivate learners, ground rules and teaching and learning resources.

You will need to perform a micro-teach(this is recorded and uploaded to your online learning account) 15 minutes – 1 hour long teaching a session of your choice to a group of at least 3 people of your own choice.

  • Unit 5 – Understanding assessment in education and training.

You will need to complete a written assignment reflecting your knowledge around the purpose of assessment, different assessment types, how to conduct assessments, understanding the involvement of learners in assessment, reasons for constructive feedback and effective recording keeping of assessments.

Assessment

Assessments are a great way of checking your progress allowing you to apply your learning to real-world situations. Through the TQUK Level 3 Award in Education & Training (RQF) qualification, you will be assessed by a series of written assignments, which are submitted to and marked by your tutor.

All assignments are set by TQUK. Upon verification of the activities, exercises and assignments, a certificate of achievement will be awarded by TQUK, as confirmation that your written work has met all of the learning outcomes and assessment criteria for the course.

Please note: There is no examination required for this course however you will have to complete some ‘Micro-Teach’ session’s. These can be recorded and sent in to the college.

You will be provided with all course materials in order to complete your TQUK Level 3 Award in Education & Training (RQF) qualification along with full Tutor support. Requirements

  • You should be fully committed to your studies.

  • Hold Level 2 or equivalent in English (GCSE C or above)
